2016 will be a tough year for Samsung handset business

Samsung Group announced a couple of days ago that J.K. Shin, who has looked after the day-to-day running of the company’s handset division for many years, will be taking a step back and while he will continue to lead the overall divisionmanagement will be handed over to Dongjin Koh. The new head previously led the mobile research and development team at Samsung and he also played a vital role during the development process of recent high-end flagships like the Galaxy Note 5. He has

Nikon bought Samsung’s NX mirrorless camera technology! LATEST NEWS

-Nikon's and Samsung's camera head to head-
Much has been said and written about the future of Samsung’s camera division over the past few weeks with some even claiming that the company is going to shut down this division altogether and transfer the staff to work on cameras for mobile devices. Samsung’s recent exits from the camera market in several countries doesn’t help the argument in favor of the camera division, earlier today the company confirmed that it’s shutting down its camera and camcorder business in the United Kingdom and now it’s being rumored that Samsung may have sold its NX mirrorless camera technology to Nikon.

Nikon needs no introduction, it has been a force in the camera industry for a very long time, and it would actually make sense for the company to purchase the technology from Samsung if the Korean giant no longer as any interest in making consumer cameras. According to the rumor Nikon has acquired all of Samsung’s NX technology and that this acquisition may be publicly confirmed at the International Consumer Electronics Show 2016 next month. It has already been rumored that Samsung is due to make a major camera-related announcement at CES 2016, perhaps this is what the company has in store for us. There has been no comment on this rumor as yet from either Nikon or Samsung.

Samsung Gear VR for only £80

The consumer version of the Gear VR is currently available straight off Samsung’s website for merely £80 in the UK (instead of £99 as we would have expected based on its pricing in other regions). The product isn’t currently available on other retailers but it’s probably going to become more widely sold soon, both in the UK and other European markets. The Gear VR has already sold out in Korea and T-Mobile is set to start selling the virtual reality headset later this month.
Currently, the Gear VR is compatible with the following handsets: Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 edge+, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge. The headset also has a foam cushioning on the inside for added comfort as well as a touchpad on the right side, and there’s a lot of content for you to choose from like Land’s End, a Gear VR exclusive game, and many others. You’re only able to get the Gear VR in Frost White at the moment but in the future Samsung could add more color options.
